To the degree that violence, control, domination, objectification, and sexuality are bound up with one another under patriarchy, we need to look at how patriarchal culture defines normal sexuality. What we take for granted as “natural” sexuality is not. It is and always has been socially constructed, and the context in which this occurs as well as what goes into it are profoundly bound up with the culture and structure of patriarchal systems.
