Lake Powell was formed from the Colorado River when the controversial Glen Canyon Dam was completed in 1966 to provide electricity for the growing population in the Southwest. It’s the second largest man-made lake in the United States and part of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. David Halgrimson climbed to an overlook to photograph part of the vast lake. “The two figures show perspective,” the Arizona photographer wrote. Halgrimson used a Canon 5D with a 28-135mm lens.
