Mark Bridger went to Knowsley Safari Park in Prescot, Merseyside to photograph reptiles. He spotted Gandalf the great grey owl (Strix nebulosa) in the top floor window of a building. The curious creature was framed in exactly the right spot, the incongruity comes from the fact that we are used to seeing animals from the outside looking in.
